Bees collect resin from trees and plants. This resin contains many beneficial and medicinal properties.
The bees will mix the resin with beeswax, honey and enzymes and its then called propolis or bee glue. They will use this propolis to seal any openings and smooth down the internal surfaces of the hive. Propolis helps them maintain a sterile environment within the hive.
We collect propolis for its medicinal value and incorporate it into our various beeswax products, from lip balm to lotion bars and beard balm.
Bees will also collect propolis from other empty beehives.
